The latest data from the Australian Government’s 2025 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) once again confirms that regional universities continue to outperform the national average in employability metrics.
According to the 2025 Graduate Outcomes Survey, undergraduates from RUN universities enjoy a more than $4,900 starting salary premium. Beyond this, RUN graduates also experience an 8-percentage point higher employment rate than the sector average, with regional university graduate full-time employment rates sitting at 84.42 per cent compared to 76.5 per cent for the sector, which includes all universities.
Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Universities Network Alec Webb said that this data reconfirms a consistent narrative – that regional graduates are quality and in-demand additions to the workforce.
“We know that over 70 per cent of regional graduates, remain in the regions after graduation, and they do so with superior starting salaries and employment rates.
“Regional universities are proud of our work in delivering highly skilled and educated workforces to regional communities,” said Mr Webb.
