The Regional Universities Network (RUN) welcomes the announcement of an independent Australian Research Council (ARC) Board.
In welcoming the announcement of the Board, RUN congratulates Chair Professor Peter Shergold AC, Deputy Chair Professor Susan Dodds FAHA, and other members on their appointment.
RUN is pleased to see the recommendation relating to greater board independence from the ARC Review being implemented.
The independent ARC Board will be vital in improving the accountability, transparency, excellence and integrity of Australia’s world leading research ecosystem.
With the vital role that the ARC has in Australia, being the funder of basic and applied research across all disciplines, the adoption of an independent Board will ensure that Australian’s can continue to have certainty in the robust governance arrangements for Australia’s world-leading research ecosystem.
