AEA IGNITE PROGRAM SHOWCASES WORLD-CLASS RESEARCH CAPABILITIES OF REGIONAL UNIVERSITIES

Regional Universities continue to demonstrate their world-class research capabilities in key areas of national importance, following the release of successful projects funded by the Australia’s Economic Accelerator (AEA) Ignite program today.

RUN Chief Executive Officer Alec Webb said regional universities are consistently being recognised for their ability to conduct important research in fields that matter to the communities they serve, and in areas of national and international significance.

“The AEA Ignite program funding outcomes released today show that Australia’s regional universities undertake vital nation-building research in areas such as renewable and low emission technologies; sustainable fuels; agriculture; artificial intelligence and transport logistics.

“I congratulate the RUN universities that were today awarded significant grant allocations – worth a combined $1.6 million – from the highly-competitive AEA Ignite program.

“Regional Universities are deeply embedded within their communities, and they work hard to build world-leading research capabilities that are highly-responsive to the needs of their local industries and economies.

“RUN would also like to acknowledge the Government’s ongoing commitment to recognising and funding world-class research in Australia’s regions, Mr Webb said.

The latest AEA Ignite program will fund important research projects at Regional Universities:
