RUN believes that creating opportunities for Australian universities to collaborate with European counterparts has the potential to deliver significant benefits to Australian citizens, Australia’s research and development ecosystem, the Australian economy, and Australia’s broader standing on the world stage. However, RUN could not support an association with Horizon Europe if the requisite membership funding is taken from the existing research block grant (or its projected annualised increases over time), or from other existing research schemes in Australia.
